Biography

Silvia Vargas Parra MSPH,CCRP, CPH is the Senior Manager of Research Support at the University of Miami and the Center of Excellence (COE) Coordinator for the Parkinson’s Foundation, Huntington’s Disease Society of America, CurePSP, Mission MSA, and the National Ataxia Foundation. She also serves as the Research Regulatory Manager and Lead Coordinator, providing oversight and guidance to other coordinators in the Division. A bilingual foreign medical graduate from Peru, she has over 10 years of experience in the Movement Disorders Division at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she is involved in research, clinical trial management, and patient outreach. She earned a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Miami and manages the feasibility and financial aspects of clinical trials. As a COE Coordinator, she helps connect patients and families with foundation programs and resources. Passionate about health equity, she works to expand research and care programs that support underserved communities, especially the Hispanic and Latino population.
